[Anime Review] The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi

"Why the heck this anime so popular.. I don't get it" -Bezoe

On the first day of high school a beautiful girl named Haruhi Suzumiya introduces herself as having "no interest in ordinary humans". She asks for any aliens, time travelers, sliders or espers to join her. Watching her weird behaviour is Kyon who sits in front of Haruhi and is the only person who talks to her. When Kyon comments about Haruhi's joining every club in school and then quitting he unwittingly gives Haruhi an idea to start her own after school club. Thereafter Kyon and several others find themselves dragged, literally, into the Save our world by Overloading it with fun Suzumiya Haruhi's Brigade (the S.O.S. Brigade for short).

Why the heck this anime become very popular? I really don't get it. I agree the story pretty good and enjoyable, a lot of twist here and there but it is hard to be consider one of the best anime out there. I enjoyed watch Suzumiya Haruhi, but in order form (I don't think I will like it if I watch it with an airing order).

The music and the dance were very catchy though, makes me want to learn them ^_^;.

Character design I think was good, but not best. But I really like the personality of each character such as Haruhi, Yuki and Mikuru.

Bottom line I can't say bad thing about this anime but I also wouldn't personally recommend it. But at least I got 1 favorite character there =)

Overall Rating: B-

Favorite Character
#1. Yuki Nagato
