The Diclonius, a mutated homo sapien that is said to be selected by God and will eventually become the destruction of mankind, possesses two horns in their heads, and has a "sixth sense" which gives it telekinetic abilities. Due to this dangerous power, they have been captured and isolated in laboratories by the government. Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, manages to break free of her confines and brutally murder most of the guards in the laboratory, only to get shot in the head as she makes her escape. She survives and manages to drift along to a beach, where two teenagers named Kouta and Yuka discovers her. Having lost her memories, she was named after the only thing that she can now say, "Nyuu," and the two allow her to stay at Kouta's home. However, it appears that the evil "Lucy" is not dead just yet...

This anime isn't for a fainted heart, because its very gory and bloody for almost every episode (probably only the ova that isn't). It has a very sad story line which make this anime very great to watch. I love how the tell the story of each characters using flashback. Some of the flashback actually really sad. The ending is something that what we expected, but it is still awesome.

Character design and animation probably not the greatest but its still very good quality.
I love the OP sequence video, it has a superb presentation in my opinion and the ED ost also really nice.

Overall I love this anime but I don't think I will watch it again for a second time because its pretty gory. Recommend to watch it only if you like gory, bloody with a lot of nude scene

Note: The Ova not exactly an Ova, its just a small filler of between episode 10-11 I believe since in some web it says Elfen Lied 10.5
